October 6th ... Begins Global Read Aloud

We have the power to create a sense of belonging for kids and for one another by building community around reading.  Through a shared reading experience, we can show students that they are part of something bigger than them. The premise behind the Global Read Aloud is simple; we pick a book to read aloud to our students, between October 6th and November 12, and during that time we try to make as many connections as possible.

Our teachers will be reading six picture books by Peter Reynolds. In our "one book one school" event, we hope students and teachers will connect over the wonderful messages this author shares with us. Connections in our building, in our district and state, and out into the world will help our students know they are part of a huge movement, they are connected by their reading.
